The Miracle League provides an environment for children with mental and physical handicaps the ability to enjoy “America’s Favorite Pastime”. All players are accompanied by a “Buddy” when at bat and in the field to help the children play the game and also protect them from injury.
The season runs from April through the end of June. All players receive a uniform with their name on it and at the end of the season are presented a trophy by none other than the Phillie Phanatic. It is a very enjoyable and rewarding program for the players and buddies alike.
The League has a Board of Directors and is supported by many area volunteers. There are many other Miracle Leagues throughout the country and it is due to their success that the league has come to this area.
